Shopping for a newborn is exciting and overwhelming at the same time. There are so many things involved in a newborn baby shopping with so many baby products available these days. Walk into any baby store and you will know what we are talking about. So, here is a fool-proof baby shopping guide to help you shop with ease, lest you forget anything.
Newborn Baby Products Shopping Checklist
To make it easier, let us divide the checklist into sub-sections.
While this is not related directly to the baby, it is necessary to include this in your checklist. These are the products that definitely need to be on your list:
Breast pump: There might be times when you might not be around, but your baby needs to get breast milk. There are different brands of breast pumps available and one of the most popular ones is the Philips Avent.
Nursing bras: These are essential as it is comfortable and easy to feed the baby. Also, but maternity wear; if you are out, it is easier to feed the baby.
Napkins: It is always handy to have napkins after feeding the baby to wipe your baby’s mouth. Buy as many as possible for all the drooling.
Now, this is the most exciting part of the shopping. Usually, the first cloth that we put on our baby’s body is a used one, for different reasons and that is what the elders of the family suggest. But, after that, you can put absolutely whatever you feel is right for your child. A few of the must-haves, we have given in the list below.
Onesies/Bodysuits/Rompers: For the first few initial months, say up to 3 months, these are the best set of clothing for the baby; it is top and bottom all in one and is very comfortable. These days, there are a lot of cute and adorable varieties available to choose from.
Night suits: Most babies stay awake through the night the first few weeks at least, and so, this helps in the process of putting the baby to sleep.
This depends on whether you will co-sleep in the long run or you will make your baby separate in the other room. But, one sure stuff to buy for the nursery is the crib and the mattress. You will find varieties in the shop. If you are not co-sleeping, you need to also buy a baby monitor. Other stuff included in the bedding list is the pillows, swaddles and the blankets.
This, you must be aware of – soap, shampoo, massage oil, towels and some bath toys – and you are all set.
Depending on what you want to do, either buy the regular diapers or the cotton nappies.
Strollers and Car seat is a must. Apart from that, if you want to buy a bassinet or other such stuff is left up to you.
With this complete list, now you are all set to shop for your little bundle of joy! So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and shop for you tiny tots with this checklist in place.
